Sara & Vale is published by Peekaboo Apps. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it's used, who it's shared with, and the choices you have. By using the app, you agree to the practices described here.
During onboarding, we ask for your name, date of birth, the areas of life you're curious about, and your tarot experience level. This is stored locally on your device to personalize your experience (for example, showing your zodiac sign) and is not uploaded to our servers. If you send us a message through Feedback or Contact Us, we store the message text and, if you choose to provide one, a reply email address, so we can respond to you.
When you request a reading, your question (if any), the cards drawn, the spread and reader you chose, and the generated reading text are sent to our backend and stored, tied to an anonymous device identifier — not your name or any personal account. We also track how many readings you've used against your free or subscription allowance, so the app can correctly apply your weekly limit.
Reading text is generated using Anthropic's Claude API. Spoken narration of readings and card-name audio use OpenAI's text-to-speech API. Backend requests, data storage, and anonymous session handling are managed through Supabase. Subscription and purchase management is handled through RevenueCat. Each of these providers processes the data we send them in accordance with their own privacy policies, and only receives the data necessary to perform its specific function.
Subscriptions and one-time reading top-ups are purchased through Apple's App Store or Google Play, and processed by RevenueCat on our behalf. We receive your subscription status, plan, and purchase/renewal dates from RevenueCat so the app can unlock the right features — we do not receive or store your payment card details, which are handled entirely by Apple or Google.
The app uses anonymous authentication — we do not require you to sign up with an email or password, and we do not collect your name or contact details for account purposes. Your app data is tied to an anonymous device identifier, not your personal identity, unless you choose to give us your email when contacting us.
Your onboarding profile stays on your device until you clear it or uninstall the app. Readings, usage counts, and feedback messages are kept on our servers for as long as your anonymous account is active, so your reading history and subscription status stay consistent across sessions. You can request deletion of your server-stored data at any time — see "Your Rights & Choices" below.
You can review or update your onboarding profile at any time from Account & Settings → Account Details, or reset it entirely. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data. To request deletion of the data we hold on our servers (readings, usage history, feedback messages), contact us using the Contact Us option in Account & Settings and we'll delete it within a reasonable time. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through Account & Settings → Subscriptions, which links directly to Apple's or Google's official subscription management page.
We do not sell your data. We do not run advertising or third-party analytics/tracking inside the app. We do not share your onboarding profile (name, birth details, interests) with anyone — it stays on your device.
This app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Our third-party service providers may process and store data in countries other than your own, including the United States. By using the app, you consent to your information being processed in these locations, which may have different data protection laws than your home country.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we store, including encrypted connections to our backend and access controls on our database. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
As the app grows, this policy will be updated to reflect any new data practices, and we'll make a reasonable effort to let you know about material changes. Continued use of the app after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
Questions about this policy or your data can be sent through Contact Us in the app, or by emailing support@peekabooapps.com.
